The Well Being Centre is closing for the foreseeable future

With the latest advice from the Government to social distance and avoid any gatherings we have decided to close the Well Being Centre from tomorrow, Wednesday,17th March for the foreseeable future. We know that many of you will miss your classes, workshops and treatments. We hope that once we reopen someday in the not too far distant future, the workshops, clinics and classes you enjoy so much and look forward to will be there for you to experience. In the meantime we must do all we can to ensure that those who are the most vulnerable receive the best possible support to maintain good health. As challenging as these times are, this is a wonderful opportunity to do some of those things you have been meaning to do for some time and never have the time to do, to build and support community, and be increasingly aware of the value and beauty of all the relationships we share….!

Thanks to Tess John for sharing these beautiful words by Kitty O’Meara.

“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.

“And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.

“And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.”

Kirtan in the Yurt with Patricia and Marnie

Kirtan (keer-tan) is a form of singing or chanting, which is part of the Bhakti path of yoga. It can be a meditative and joyous experience that anyone can benefit from, you don’t need to be a singer to participate!

Saturdays, 29th February, 28th March and 25th April Time: 7 – 9pm

We will sing in call-and-response (we will sing a line, and invite you to sing it back to us) and will be accompanied by beautiful acoustic harmonium and dolac and djembe drums. The rhythm will build over several minutes, and then we will return to a place of stillness allowing us to enjoy the soothing effects of the sound on the body and mind.

We will be together for two hours, with time to come together initially, and to share tea afterwards should you wish to stay until 9pm to rest in the soothing atmosphere of the yurt, set in the lovely countryside, and warmed by a calming woodburner.

Places are limited to 12, with free parking on site, so please do pre-book via eventbrite
or to reserve your space without the Eventbrite fee, please contact us at here  or call us on 07854 092744.

Cost : £12 per person, though please do contact us if cost would prohibit your attendance, as this is a practice for all ♥

We look forward to welcoming you to Kirtan ♥

QIGONG, MEDITATION and the MAGIC of the BREATH  with Nick Neter

Saturdays,14th March, 18th April and 30th May 3.30-5.30pm

“Touch your inner space, which is nothingness, as silent and empty as the sky; it is your inner sky. Once you settle down in your inner sky, you have come home, and a great maturity arises in your actions, in your behavior. Then whatever you do has grace in it. Then whatever you do is a poetry in itself. You live poetry; your walking becomes dancing, your silence becomes music.” ~Osho

As you become more sensitive to Qi in your Qigong practice,
you will become more sensitive to Qi in your everyday life. This opens new avenues of perception and awareness.

Qigong man on the beach

 Time:3.30am -5.30pm

Investment:£18. Booking required. All welcome though priority will be given to regular attenders of my classes.

Come to a two hour  workshop to experience the ancient practices of Qigong and Meditation in a beautiful setting in the Sussex countryside.  We will  be exploring  the power of the breath with gentle, flowing movements and stillness, connecting with our own energy and that of nature.

“At the centre of your being
you have the answer;
You know who you are
and you know what you want.”
Lao Tzu

Qigong , derived from the Chinese “qi” and “gong” means working with the life force  to develop  vitality, strength, and wellbeing. Qigong is also a path to greater self awareness and understanding of our true nature.

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years and can be done by people of all faith traditions. With the practice of meditation the mind settles and a sense of ease, tranquillity and joy arise. This can lead to insight and wisdom.istocktai_chi_000003260776small[1]

This two hour workshop has grown from discussions with my Tuesday evening group who suggested a Qigong and Meditation workshop to give more time to our work in our classes which we have been learning and exploring together and for a longer meditation. All are welcome though priority will be given to those who regularily attend my classes. Booking is essential as places are limited.

The Meditation is usually visualisation based, an inner journey to develop and explore more about our inner world and create new awarenesses. It is also an opportunity  to learn and develop  some letting go and relaxation techniques to work with ourselves.

Spring Awakening Yoga Workshop with Vicky

Saturday,21st March 2pm to 5pm

Join together for an afternoon of yoga, meditation and creativity, celebrating the rebirth of the Sun.

A time to awaken from the slower slumber and introversion of Autumn and Winter. Gentle waking our bodies with a restorative yoga practice and plant seeds of intention as we connect to the fresh spring air, the light and love, new budding growth within and around.

We honour the goddess Ostara (a pagan goddess representing dawn, her duty is to oversee the budding plants and fertility of Spring) and honour the goddess within by creating a fresh flower crown and celebrate Spring together with refreshments and fresh fruits.

The workshop will take place in the large Yurt at The Well Being Centre, Stone Cross.

Investment – £30 Everything included (you are welcome to bring some extra flowers from your garden )
